Treasurer Beadle thanks ND Legislature for passing Legislation supporting Israel

With a 87-4 vote in the House and a 43-3 vote in the Senate, the North Dakota Legislature has passed HB 1368 and has affirmed its support of Israel.

This bill ensures that the state shall not invest in any firm where there is evidence that they intentionally boycott Israel. If the state receives evidence that a company boycotts Israel, and upon investigation the state confirms that a company is refusing to do business in Israel, the state shall not invest in or enter contract with the offending company.

In North Dakota we are proud of our longstanding support and relationship with Israel and we recognize the importance of Israel as an ally to the United States. This step by the legislature affirms this relationship and I’m grateful for their action to pass it and to Governor Burgum for signing it into law.
